folks in Seattle are probably aware that Icelandair have started flights to Reykjavik which gives a new option for cheap flights to Europe. Icelandair have positioned themselves at the bottom of the price scale by offering cheap fligh with NO meals in economy. Stop overs in Iceland are FREE. I travelled to Manchester for $579 mid September all in.
This deal works out better if there are more than two Vancouverites travelling together as you will more than recover the costs of parking, or the greyhound/quickshuttle to Seatac. I travelled on my own and saved around $100 and I spent 4 days in Iceland. While I was in Iceland I met some guys from Coco so it seems this people are figuring this new option out. In this case act fast to book flights for xmas and the school holidays!
By the way Icelandair are not in any alliances and their own frequent flyer program is a bit useless.
