Prague
Train
Budapest, Vienna, Bratislava, Praha by train 43.03 Euro
Posted on: Tue March 11 02:12:28 2008 UTC
How to do?

1) Go Budapest->Bratislava in the morning, pay 16 Euro, buy the ticket at Wasteels in Budapest or at the train station. It's easy!
2) Buy Bratislava->Vienna->Bratislava in Bratislava (NOT in Budapest!), the price is 9.2 Euro, that includes
your 4-day ticket to Vienna, there are several trains each hour.
3) After having nice time in Vienna go from Vienna to Bratislava.
4) Buy Bratislava->Breclav ticket in Bratislava for 5.10 Euro at the station,
board the first train to Praha. Breclav is the first Czech station, stay on
the train after Breclav, don't worry about not having any ticket: you will buy it from Czech conductor as he comes.

WARNING/1: DO NOT BUY ANY TICKET FOR CZECH REPUBLIC OUTSIDE OF CZECH REPUBLIC AT ALL!!! IT'S A TOURIST TRAP!
Just stay cool, nothing will happen besides you saving some good money. The Breclav->Praha supplement is 289 Czech Crowns. For buying the ticket on the train there will be 30 Crown handling fee. Total: 319 Czech Crowns which is about 12.73 Euro.

WARNING/2: IF YOU ARE NOT ALONE, THE SECOND PERSON RECEIVES 25% DISCOUNT FROM THE CZECH CONDUCTOR, THIRD, ETC. 50%. (That is, you have to buy the domestic ticket in Czech Republic or from Czech conductor. Tickets from outside: no discount and besides cost up to 3 times more!)

Tickets finished, let's count the beans:

The entire Budapest->Bratislava->Vienna->Bratislava->Praha will cost you 16+9.2+5.1+12.73 = 43.03 Euro pro person if you are alone and a bit less if you are a couple.

Everything is "cleverly" hidden in national languages. :(
You have to understand all of them to see the savings :(
Don't worry, these are for real! :)
