"Go West" train tickets from Hungary to West Europe Posted on: Mon January 07 16:54:44 2008 UTC Very inexpensive "Global Trainfare" tickets from Budapest to many West European cities:
Vienna: 13 Euro Venice, Munich: 29 Euro Zürich: 39 Euro, direct train Also: Karlsruhe, Baden-Baden, Kehl, Strasbourg, Saalfeld, Jena, Naumburg, Lipcse, Lutherstadt Wittenberg, Berlin, Göttingen, Hannover, Hamburg, Aschaffenburg, Frankfurt Flughafen, Köln, Düsseldorf, Nürnberg with one change of the train: 39 Euro Mannheim, Frankfurt, Mainz, Koblenz, Bonn, Arnhem, Utrecht, Amsterdam: 42 Euro These prices are valid for limited seat contingent. It is basically the same price level as Austrian "Sparschiene" from Vienna plus 10 Euro for Budapest-Vienna service if necessary. If the seat contingent is sold out or not available, it is still possible to use these trains with very discounted price: the passenger would pay the same price as Austrian resident who owns a "VorteilsCard" train-discount card. In such case the Budapest-Vienna service would add a mere 15 Euro to the "VorteilsCard" price. This is a great opportunity because unlike for point of sale in Austria, there is no need to book via Internet: it is assumed, Hungarian residents have more limited Internet access, so for them special conditions were created. The tickets, however, can be booked without any residence or citizenship restriction. Travel Between: Sun December 09, 2007 - Fri December 12, 2008 More info: http://www.mav-start.hu/ajanlatok/kulfol Comment on this Deal |

SparSchiene prices:
from 13 ?: Wien no train change from 29 ?: Venice, Munich no train change from 39 ?: Zürich, no train change from 39 ?: With change of train in Vienna: Karlsruhe, Baden-Baden, Kehl, Strasbourg, Saalfeld, Jena, Naumburg, Leipzig, Lutherstadt Wittenberg, Berlin, Göttingen, Hannover, Hamburg, Aschaffenburg, Frankfurt Flughafen, Köln, Düsseldorf, Nürnberg I cannot translate for the entire Hungarian railway web site. If anyone has a question for a certai date, ask www.wasteels.hu in English - they are capable for expert ticketing. The above prices have a certain limitation of seats but more importantly, there is an advance booking requirement, usually a week. In the case if it cannot be met, the non-advance booking, unlimited contingent prices will apply, which are Vorteilscard + 15 Euro. This is also a good deal because you will receive Austrian Vorteilscard prices without having the Austrian discount card and pay only 15 Euro for Budapest-Vienna transfer by rail. In any case: buying the tickets "TO" Hungary is almost always more expensive than buying "FROM". Also, use Wasteels office - they speak English and are located at Keleti station. | GyuriFT | ||||
