THAI and ASEAN carriers would like to offer the special ASEAN Promotional Fare for travelling within ASEAN countries at minimum of 3 coupons and maximum of 5 coupons which valid from 01 December 2007 to 30 November 2008.
You can buy coupons for use BETWEEN countries in the ASEAN* group. It works out to about $110 per flight, but there are several aspects of this that you need to be careful with to make sure it will work out well for you. * ASEAN countries include: Brunei Cambodia Indonesia Laos Malaysia Myanmar Philippines Thailand Vietnam This is the itinerary I'm considering: Manila to Kuala Lumpur to Jakarta to Hanoi to LuangPrabang to Bangkok. All for under $US600 - not bad, eh? ADDITIONAL DETAILS: MINIMUM STAY : 5 days MAXIMUM STAY : 1 month STOPOVER : Only 1 stopover is permitted at any city except that stopover is not permitted at the point of origin. TRANSFER: 1 transit is allowed at the point of origin or destination or any city in the event a sector is not serviced by an ASEAN carrier. The problem is, everything transits Bangkok, and "Travel from a stopover city via a transit city and from the transit city to the next en-route city shall be counted as 2 flight coupons." Your proposed itinerary would use 10 coupons, with a maximum of 5 allowable. |

It doesn't say you have to transit via Bangkok, but that is the only way to get from one place to another. Virtually everything they offer does transit Bangkok. |
