Universal is a wonderful place and has been very adept at marketing themselves as a "less expensive alternative" to Disney - however - when you add in the cost of their "come on" park admission ticket to their hotel it is only marginally less expensive than many Disney resorts [ unless you compare it to their 5 stars ]. More importantly and to the point : Note that Universal likes to compare the cost of park admissions to Disney - and leave it at that.
What is conveniently [ and cleverly ] lost in the shuffle is comparing the facilities of what you get less expensive admission to. Universal leaves one with the impression that you are getting THE SAME THING - for less. Anyone that has been to both places knows this is not the case. So - when making the final evaluation of how good the Universal deals are keep in mind you are not getting DISNEY for less - you are getting something else - for less. |
