Just went through a comparison on one of the medium priced hotels. After the $180 fee added on it seems comparable to just booking the airfare and then booking the room through tripadvisor. From LA the total cost was about $2,700 for two. By comparison, RT from LAX to CDG should be no more than $1K each in November and you should be able to book the hotel for $220 per night.
